Upgrading the Lexus Rx330
Do anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the the RX 330? I would like to have a built in navigation but I don't know if this is possible. Or do you guys think it would be best just to get a mobile navigation system?

Out of Warranty
As we've often said around here, it's probably cheaper to trade the car, since installing a factory nav will involve changing a vast number of parts. Installing an aftermarket radio with a nav function is possible, but again will require a good bit of cash and/or skills. A third solution - a standalone "portable" nav device, such as those from Garmin, Magellan, and others is a pretty decent alternative that offers at least two advantages -
You can move it from car to car relatively easily, and in some models you can program a long trip on your home or office computer. Save the file to a flash drive, and feed it to your nav system to quickly and easily plan your route without all of the screen taps and pokes required to program a typically obtuse in-car nav with the details of an extended road trip.

I would recommend getting an aftermarket nav, because believe it or not, getting a dealer-installed nav actually decreases resale value.
And also the aftermarket navs are a LOT cheaper.

Here is an example of a aftermaket multimedia nav system with some other toys we put into a friends leased 2007 RX350. Hope this get the wheels turning.
Original set up
Upgraded with custom kit
Speak easy button for nav system
Ipod sync in glove box
DVD Nav drive in rear storage area "nothing fancy" just easy to access if needed
Blutooth cell phone interupt system goes through factory speakers

It better not be a lease...otherwise, you will spend more $$ putting it back, otherwise, you take a deduction.
