Ouch. XM only works down here until about Guatemala or so, but Sirius can go all the way to Panama with the right kind of antenna. Glad XM works here as the local radio is abhorrent.

Default First month update

So I have now lived with the RX-350 for about a month... and I am happy as a pig in ***** :-) I hit 1,000 miles somewhere around Greenwich CT on CT15 and opened her up. What a difference 30 horses make... very nice power. Transmission is MUCH improved over my 04 330.

The response from a standing start is also much better... not as much lag as the old one (although still slightly disconnected)

I want to add to the discussion on radio and such...

--HD Radio is nice, but unless thay can allow me to keep a station on for two or three states without loosing it, SAT will still hold king :-) Can;t compete with that. Also, can;t compete with SAT for pure uncensored content period. Unless they introduce subscription for HD it will not happen. And HD must be free. I people are asked to pay, they will pay for SAT to get the better content
- You can only have so much content in such limited frequency space. SAT will always be able to add more channels.. they have TONS of wasted BW.
-SAT is rumored to toying with the idea of video feeds to head units... this would be REALLY nice... like for Howard Stern :-)
-The most BASIC SAT unit ($30 bucks) has more functionality than my aftermarket or factory units I have seen... like PAUSE LIVE RADIO, REWIND, SCROLLING TEXT DISPLAY, Etc.

Now for one sad note... I had a little incident with a fellow motorist the other day on the highway... long story but ultimately I ended u with a ding on the right rear fender. THe guy hurled his coffee thermos at my car and it made contact... We eventually pulled over and he agreed to pay for the repair ...

Anyone recommend a good Paintless Dent Repair shop/service in NYC or surrounding 40 miles?

1500 miles so far and loving it :-)

You are lucky it was just a thermos. They throw all kinds of stuff down here, a lot more deadlier.

Cell phones, rocks, bricks, umbrellas, soda bottles, coins, blocks of ice, large ball bearings, nuts, bolts, fists, tire irons, knives...I have seen all of these used to effectiveness by motorists down here.

A few weeks ago, I saw someone in a 325i execute what I consider to be an ill-advised manuver moving up between lanes on a simple street while talking on the phone and swerved just in front of a guy in a Tahoe just a few feet before a red light. Tahoe slammed on the brakes, he got out of his car went up to BMW, grabbed the guy's phone out of his hand and chucked that thing who knows where. Didn't stick around as I was on the way to work, but of course a heated exchange ensued.

We don't have a huge problem with guns...we have what I consider better gun control than back in the United States, but the licensing and driver education scheme pales in comparison to the one I grew up with back home in Florida.

Man, you have to have extreme patience...to deal with drivers down there, if you value your life.

I had good practice learning to drive in Miami.

In addition, my father gained a lot of experience which he passed on to me (used to race) and I remember watching how he dealt with difficult traffic when we lived in Caracas in the late 1970s. Now there, people had a gun in their glove compartment.

Miami...is that comparable to Atlanta driving? With so much of the immigration here, we have folks from around the nation....so, you have 10 types of aggresive drivers and mixin the local rednecks and TN'eans....you have a bowl of gumbo!
