Replacing Fog Light Bulbs w/Xenon-HID Bulbs
I had posted this message in another thread, but I think it "fell through the cracks", so here it is again...
If I want to change my fog lights to HID/Xenon lights, I understand from an older thread that I should use the 9006 style bulbs.
When I research these bulbs, they come in various colors: Crystal White, Super White, Iceberg Blue, Extreme Blue, Dark Violet, etc.
Which color would best match my existing HID headlights?
Has anyone changed their stock fog light bulbs to HID? Is it as simple as replacing the bulbs? Any tips?

If you're replacing only the bulbs/sockets and not the entire assembly, check what (thermal) temperature they operate at to make sure they won't melt the existing lenses.

If you are talking about 9006 bulbs, then Heon makes a very good bulb that matches HIDs very well, I think its call xenonmatch titanium. They use them in BMW and MB.

Get the Sylvania "Silverstar" avail. at any major auto parts store. It has a 4300K color temp and same wattage as stock bulbs so you dont have to worry about melting your wires. Stay away from the 5000K or higher Kelvin on Ebay as they become transparent and useless at night and worst of all, its cheap quality. The good thing about Silverstar is that the bulbs are not tinted blue like the 99% of those other bulbs. Those blue tinted bulbs will give that ugly bluish color effect around your light housing visible during daytime.

No, NO NO!! I have used Sylvania "Sylvestar" before on two of my cars. That is a pissed of junk bulb. Only lasted for 2 years. I will never buy a Silvestar again. Manufacture warranty is only 1 year. Get the PIAA!
