For some FM stations I listen to, I would not get any RDS text (song title and artist). The "MSG" indicator says I do, but all I see is text on the radio station. So, technically, I am getting RDS messages.

Anyway, on one of those same stations, I started getting the full song title and artist information a few weeks ago. This was nice. However, over the past week, I'm back to just text information on the radio station, not the current song. In my area, there is one station that always sends out the right information, and there are some that never do.

My question is, there is something that I have done (or need to do) to activate this for certain stations?

In case this helps, here are the stations (I live in southern California):

106.7 KROQ (didn't at first, did for a while, now it doesn't)

93.1 JACK-FM, 95.5 KLOS, 98.6 STAR (never has)

102.7 KIIS (always has and still does) don't ask--it's not me...my daughter likes this station!


106.7 KROQ is the one in question that I wish would start sending that info again.

this is the same for me. Not all stations have it, im buessing they need to pay or do something to activate this on their station. try going to some young teenage music stations, like hardcore rock and pop. Im sure those stations will have them.

some have both station name and song, some just station, and some just dont have it

they dont all have it..i hate the radio stations in so cal they all suck *****.

What confuses me is that KROQ didn't have it, then they did for a couple of weeks, now they don't. I had thought I changed something inadvertently.

Some stations do not send text messages....I wish everyone would...nice to know the title and singer of the songs.
