Default Pulsing on the brakes on 50 mph covered warranty?

My 04 has warranty till JAN 08. I have been noticing pulsing on high speed braking. I think this is covered through the warranty? Please confirm for those who have had theirs serviced. Thanks.

Will they re-surface and replace pads?

Rotors and pads are consider wear and tear items and they are not cover under factory warranty, unless there is a factory defect. It sounds like your rotor is warp, warp rotors are kind of borderline as far as warranty is concern. Some dealer will fix it and some wont.

There is a TSB covering brake rotor warping on the 04. Lexus replaced my front rotors and pads at about 25k for free. See your dealer and find out if your car is covered.

I only have 29K on my 04. I will certainly ask my service advisor. I can understand pads, but rotors warping is a warranty issue. Rotors should not warp, normally. It coul be an indication of sticking pins.

Keep in mind the dealership is really a third-party. They want to service vehicles and would like to bill the repairs to the manaufacturer or the owner. If they have not gone to the well (manufacturer) too many times, [or there is a genuine reason] then it will not cost the owner anything. So don't be too surprised if one dealer does it as warranty work and another does not.

Rotors warping can be for many reasons ... improper torque, driving through water with hot brakes, etc etc.

I will try my luck the next time I come in. Theyv replaced my left stop light because of a faulty LED. They back ordered a Pass grab rail, that's busted...it is just hanging loose, maybe when it comes in, I will pitch in for the brake issue. I saw the TECH who did my light....he kept on banging on it for it to turn on.....where is that in the repair manual? Then he was gone and he came back with the whole corner stop light. I checked the replacement assembly, it is not as clean as the original one (inside the lens, etc). But it works, I am happy.

TSB 04-004; it will be covered under warranty. I would strongly recommend having them replace the pads at the same time.
