do you guys ever notice the car veering to the left or right quite a bit? I'm assuming in my case the disc brakes on the right side of my RX350 is gripping harder than the left since it veers to the right when braking. Is this something that is common? It's more noticable when driving at slower speeds and braking.

If everything is perfect then the vehicle should stop straight.
Although brakes could be the culprit but there are other things like suspension, tires etc that can account for a pull to a side.
How bad is the problem ... the stearing turns 90degrees? Have the dealrship look at the problem and compare with a demo.

Thanks Salim for the advice. I'll have the dealer look at it. The steering wheel goes about 60 degrees, this if I'm braking from around 40 mph without holding the steering wheel. Do you think warranty would cover this issue? The dealer might say that I messed it up somehow, like leaving the parking brake on while driving if it is the brakes that is causing this issue.

Auxiallary brakes (parking), are conncted to rear and are independant brakes. They should not cause stearing issues. Incidentally, a warning lamp should advise the driver that the parking brakes are on and unless some one doesn not know how to release them, it is almost improbable to drive with them on.
If under warranty the dealer would do the repair and bill the manufacturer. I think your concern is the gray area where it becomes an issue of wear and tear or negligence. If nothing else, they will diagnose it for free and then it is up to you how to get it fixed.

You should not have a problem with a claim like this, especially a low mileage and an 07 model. Shame on them if they do not make you happy. Is it a certified pre-owned? If it is the more you will not have an issue with the claim.

Thanks for the advice guys! It's a new '07 RX350 with around 6000 miles on it. I'll have the dealer check it out, hopefully it's covered under warranty

I had a similar issue on a new MB after about the same miles--read on a forum to simply execute several very hard (non-ABS) stops in succession. It worked for me. I tend to be fairly light on the brakes, anticipating stops rather than charging to them, and the pads were developing some glazing. 'Worth a try, and does not affect any corrections the dealer may make.

You should be able to go from any speed, step on the brakes hard or soft and stop straight ahead without ANY HANDS on the wheel. If you can't do this in any car, then some component of your braking system is not up to par. In a new car, this is a serious failure of something. Let your dealer resolve this.
