Finally got the windshield replaced yesterday after the crack propogated into the drivers field of view.

The wait was cost effective. From my original quotes of 1750 to 290 plus tax, windshield replaced by a mobile tech in my garage. Its not OEM glass, but I dont see any distortion or other problems. Rain sensing unit was also part of the installation. I watched the tech through the whole process. He did a very good job. I would be surprised to ever see a windshield leak, unless it was a totally botched install. The tech and I talked through the whole install. He says he does a lot of new cars that for whatever reason get damaged in shipment. I suspect the glass I got doesnt have the acoustic coating. If its only a 2 to 3 db difference, I doubt I would be able to ever tell any change.

Should be covered under warranty...take it to the dealer. There's no OEM lexus windshield and that's fine.

They let the car sit overnight to allow the adhesives to properly cure. The general windshield folks don't do that. His customers don't mind paying the extra deductible to ensure they A - have a proper installation of factory glass and B - maintain the original integrity of the design. I'm there with him.
+1 on this advice, you must let the car sit overnight to ensure proper curing.
