Your ordinary tire shops do not do patches anymore, primarily because of insurance...but there's a few who will.

Over here in the Northeast, its the opposite. Sears and NTB dont do plugs anymore, they just do patches.

Default Not to beat a dead horse ...

But are you sure the tire needs to be replace rather than repaired? If you have the tire professionally repaired (removed from the wheel and patched inside vs.cheap plug), it can be put back into service and have a normal life expectancy. I have had very good luck with repaired tires -- never had one fail. If the puncture is in the tread area and not too large, this tire can be repaired satisfactorily for a lot less than buying a new one and you avoid the whole difference in wear issue. Two cents, something to consider. Good luck with whatever you decide.
