oh shoot! sorry guys, i haven't visited this thread in a while. i'll take pics asap. let me tell you though, it's awesomely bright! just like the new gs's. it's plug and play. no modifications required.

these are better than the 168/194's that i've tried in the past because they actually shine more light ONTO the plate instead of just down at the street.

So I've tried the ebay "white LED" stuff and honestly they have low output and don't do a very good job. Do yourself a favor and save your money.

I recently got my RX serviced and got a chance to drive a new ES350 as a loaner. The curious guy that I am I had to find out what find of bulbs it uses for its license plate lights. So I popped open the back cover in the trunk and saw a light bulb that looked like a cone. They are not the standard T10 fitting matter of fact it is a complete unit meaning you can not just unscrew the bulb. There were 2 of them one left and one right. I recently read on an Acura forum (by the way its funny but most of them based on their comments wish they had gotten a Lexus instead) that they use a CCFL (cold cathode florescent lamps) to brighten their license plate lights. These kits are ran off of 12V and mostly used on computer mods. Anybody familiar with these lights or have installed them in their ride?
I have a set of multi-directional white LED wedge on our RX330. There are a handful of them that are LED on ebay but many are aimed wrong or in one direction only causing poor illumination. I will have to post up what I put on our RX.

As far as what's found on the new ES/GS/IS/SC they are a whole license lamp assembly, not a bulb replacement unfortunately. They are each specifically built for each application so it's not a plug/play type of part.

Petrie2001 looks real good, since the connection plugs into the T10 socket did you just place the led board on the plastic lens? Or did you secure the led boards in some way.

i just placed the led boards in the plastic lens, as far lateral as possible to even out the light output. they fit pretty snug in there.
