Default MPG, what's your best?

The wife and I were driving on the highway yesterday and I notice my MPG avg, was slowly going up. I turned it into a game, that ticked her off, to see how high I could go. I ended up just over 28, but that was tieh the air off, and she was not happy. But I did snap a pic of the display just before I shut off the air.

The best fuel consumption I've achieved so far (city driving) is 12.9 litres / 100km.

I'll let someone else convert that to MPG......

I've got a picture tucked away in my Treo's camera application of the display showing 29.7 MPG average.

The computer showed 28.4 mpg @ 65 mph(cruise mode) on my recent trip with AC on 2007 RX350 FWD

I am consistently getting 24.8 mpg on highway driving at 65 to 70 mph
20.3 mpg city driving

On the weekend, the Wife and I travelled to a neighbours cottage about 3 hours from home. On the return trip, we were getting 9.3L/100 KM, which translates to 25.29 MPG (US). Not bad for about 100Km/HR (60 M/Hr) mostly back roads, passing cars, regular fuel, AC on.

BTW, the car is an '08 AWD.

One thing, though. These readings always reset every time the engine is shut off. Dealer tells me there is no way to select constant readings and reset when I want. Does anyone out there know if this is true?

Best I've gotten was 27.2. Mostly freeway driving between 55-65 mph. Light A/C usage.

The on-board computer is highly inaccurate. Here are my actual MPG's measured over 30k miles on my RX330 AWD.

Highest MPG 27.2
Lowest MPG 17.2
Average MPG 22.1

I know the on board comp may not be the best way to measure, but since the wife refuses to put more than twenty in and only when the light has been on, I can't get a good measure. Plus she averages 16-18 mpg. The only time it goes up is when I drive. (says something for some "woman" drivers.) I wish my GS could do this, I hit about 18 on the highway, lead footed.

Average for me, not based on what the computer displayed, is 21.5mpg - 22mpg. 08 RX350 AWD. The best I've ever seen it in the last 4 month of driving is 23mpg

This is pretty good for AWD and a 350!

On the freeway, we drive mostly in the upper range of 60mph to low 70mph
