FM Radio much louder than AM
I have a 2007 RX 350 and for whatever reason the AM radio stations are all much "quieter" than all the FM stations. As a result when listening to an AM station you have to crank up the volume ****. So when you switch back to FM you get blasted unless you remember to turn down the **** prior to swicthing to FM.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

I found it to. But I heard from somebody says about it's to do with the frequency... I am not a science guy so I dunno how exactly happened but FM is much clearer than AM when I listen in my car. AM is much softer. Maybe that's why we have a feeling of quietness. Anybody have that same thing?

It is probably filtering the AM noise, hence the volume is low. But there should not be a huge difference.

I haven't noticed a difference in volume level between AM and FM. Is it possible the EQ settings for each are significantly different? (I'm not sure you can distinguish between the two, but this might at least be a starting point.)

I agree with gobucks2. Other cars I have had did not drop that much in volume, so it can't be filtering that much noise out. It just might be a Lexus thing. Something else to change or add to; to the 2009 RX.

Now, that you have mentioned it, today I realized that is true, there is a volume discrepancy between FM and AM....you have to adjust volume....or else, set it to ASL....
