Dash scuff on RX330
Hello all,
I was looking for some help...
I accidentally scuffed the edge of my dash right above the glove box and I was looking for suggestions on how I can repair or remove it. The scuff doesn't look like it's deep but I can't seem to get it back to normal again. I've tried water only for now and didn't want to use Armor All or something similar until I've checked with you all first.
One time I went to the dealer and they did something and fixed this same problem once before but they charged a good amount for it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all.

Dealers work with leather menders who already have the color formulation. My son's sc got a 1/2" cut by an idiot who scraped the inspection sticker without putting a board over the dash .... and the blade slipped ...
Those guys know how to build texture back and match the color. If you were here in Austin, I would have shared the shop's name, but you will have to work with the dealer or try yellow pages.

Out of Warranty
Armorall has an oily component that will probably interfere with any other attempts to "heal" the scrape. Check with your dealer to see if they can recommend someone to do the job. Otherwise, you might check with a good leather upholstery shop. I have a little momandpop cobbler shop in my area that can do wonders with leather, and has saved several pair of boots, shoes, and even reconstructed a vintage camera bag for me.

Similar issues, anyone?

I tend to keep my cars clean, outside, inside, engine bay .. till nature wins over and spray from road after rain.
Most of the time when I go for service, the wash is really not needed and is skipped. [service guys mistakenly think it has already been washed ]. Once when I got the vehicle back it was in worse shape than when it went in. So I did complain and to make me a happy customer, the service write sent the vehicle back and added detailing as freebie. The wheels got the wet look and some of the engine hoses appeared more black.
If you don't speak up, every one assumes things are OK and you are satisfied. If you do, I found Lexus dealers try to make things right. In this 10+ yrs of relationship, I feel I have not squeezed the dealers for extras and they have attended to my complaints. The hassle of making the second trip is something to weigh.

You have been fortunate enough to have landed on a good dealer. I must say that in my limited experience for the Lexus (it is the same group as the Acura one I have, I have reservations on them, too) it is pretty much hit or miss. You have this uneasy feeling that something will not come out right...I have made 4 trips and there is always an issue...wrong parts ordered...wrong thing done on the car...damage on car after working on it....

Lead Lap
If you want to be adventurous, you could try some Lacquer Thinners on a clean cloth. Not sure if it will damage the colour but it is an old detailers trick to remove scuffs. I would probably personally try something like Plexus first

Can you post a clear pic of the scuff? Maybe after seeing it we can offer better suggestions.
