I did, in fact, and didn't want to deal with the speedometer/odometer error and weight issues. The Bridgestone tire has 1.2" wider thread than the Goodyear so it looks much better and feels much better and no speedo/odo errors. The 255/55/18 is only an "H" rated tire as opposed to the 235/55/18 "V" rating. V rated tires flex less and run cooler. Also the tire weight for the 255 is 38 lbs. The 235 is 33 lb., 5 lbs. a tire lighter. The OEM Goodyear weighed only 29 lbs. I didn't want to add 9 lbs. of unsprung weight to each wheel.

Great call on this. And since the Alenza's were wider, worked out pretty good! Nice sidewall design, too. Made in Japan?

I am thinking about doing using the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas as soon as it gets closer to Winter.
Thanks for the info....I feel much better now that someone from CL has it on there car.

Jfelbab, I was running them at 35 psi (took them to Vegas carrying a little bit of a load) but just recently dropped them back down to 30 psi per manufacturer's recommendation. I must say at 30 psi is a real smooth comfortable ride, maybe a bit too soft. How as 33 psi been feeling?

Apologies for highkacking the thread as well but Losiho, what did you replace them with? When I replaced mine I couldn't find another tire of the same size and had to do with Michelins again. Just interested.

It was just released in the 225/65/17 size in June 2007. A$275 each fitted and balanced. They are much quieter and grippier (especially in the wet) than the Energy LX4s.
My Lexus dealer suggested the G91 for around the same price (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/BigPic...Geolandar+G91A) but it's a bit of an unknown quantity, and I didn't really like the tread pattern.
I'm seriously considering purchasing the Lexus 18 inch wheels (from the
MY05s - on) from Sewell Lexus in the USA in the near future. They sell them for US$400 each, Lexus dealers here will charge A$1,600 each. In that case, my 18 inch tyre of choice would be the Yokohama Advan ST - http://www.yokohama.com.au/ourtyres/tyre.aspx?tyreid=70
Incidentally, the 225/65/17 Michelin Energy LX4 is more expensive to replace than the 235/55/18 Bridgestone RE031....gotta love Michelin's inflated "premium" tyre pricing
