At my track, we have to keep a watchful eye on any funny business in the lot with the cars, usually small vandalism or scratches, but we have caught a few people over the years trying to rip off parts.

The cure to this problem is when there no longer is high demand for such projector HID lights. The Acura TSX projector headlights seem to be popular right now due to their small size and nice clear projector lense so they seem to be a larger target than RX's lately. When more luxury cars start coming out with LED headlights those will be the in fad and more prone to theft. Until then though, HIDs are still in theft demand.

Well, I have the vehicle back and it's looking as good as ever.
:
However, I'm paranoid to leave it any where out of eyes view.
Tomorrow I'm going over to Zippo's Alarm and Radio in Belville NJ and have them put an alarm on the bumper. I was told this is going to be annoying as the least amount of motion will probably make the alarm go off.![EEK!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/eek1.gif)
I've got to do something to slow these thiefs down.
I also spoke with the dealer regarding the grille guard. They stated the grille guard will effect the funcitonality of the air bag and could potentially cause more damage than without it.... I'm still 50/50 on that.
Although everything looks good with the SUV, it seems to me that one of the lights are brighter or higher than other when on. I have asked several people and some say yes, while others have said no. I'm taking it back to the body shop tomorrow to let them check it out.
Does anyone know of a way to test the brightness\ height of the hid lights?
Thanks again to all of you, for you support and advice.

My goodness!! People are STILL stealing headlights!!??
I thought this would have died down by now? I remember when it was seriously out of control back in 2002-2004 when the Maxima first got HID's (and they were standard on all models at the time). Then around that time the current gen RX/Toyota Sienna came out. Even a few Acuras (TL/CL) were subject to this as well. Very big problem in Newark and the surrounding areas (then again auto theft has always been a major problem in Newark for quite sometime. So it shouldnt be so expected).
Sorry that this happened to you. Very unfortunate, but glad you got everything worked out. Dont know why they didnt keep the lights. Maybe their crime boss got pissed at them and told them it isnt worth much on todays market. LOL.

Sad to hear this incident. This is simply incredible!!! Why the thieves target on RX when they could've stolen some other euro cars.... Is it really that easy to pull everything off that easily?

From the way the front is assembled, they have learned to quickly rip it to pieces in seconds....Lexus should re-design it better considering this. Somebody should be writing to Lexus. We all end up footing the bill through our Insurance!

Crime is on the rise -- because it pays in this society. I still remember being so mad when my car was broken into -- but all the protective measures I could think of would have landed ME in jail. The perps have all the rights -- remember that when you vote!

OK. I talked to my dealership today about this special security that was suppose to be installed to prevent people from stealing headlights and they said that in 2008 the definitely have it, he was not sure about 2007. I dont even know what that should do, but he said it does have something. just in case anyone is wondering
