Just got off the phone w/ Rich (the service manager) and he said they will likely have a new transmission put in. I don't know if this is a gift or a curse. We were looking to get out of the RX330 at the end of the year (not for the transmission related issues - the car other than that is a great car), but I don't know if the new transmission swap will lower resale value. Mind you, its an 05 Flint Mica RX330 AWD w/ the grey interior and just tipped the 25,000 mile mark. Its practically base model I think, (no nav, ML, adjustable suspension).

On a side note, with everything working perfectly how much do you think we should list the car for? Its always been dealer maintained and have all records

You cant sell your RX the way it is, so either way, you will need a new transmission. Your car is worth mid 30s if you sell it yourself.

brought the RX home from the dealership tonight, ah it feels so nice - i will wait till after the 1 week to really give my impressions if this is the fix, but so far so good in the first 30 miles. I saw the dealer invoice, and it was about 3800 bucks, boy would that suck if i wasn't under warranty.

AWD here
yea the dealer is like 2 minutes from where i live. if i had to i could walk back home. im just tired of having to call 2 weeks ahead to get a rental car, then have to take the car there. while there i have to almost force them to get them to do anything on the car. the tranny is not going to get any better and they dont give a s***. the service bays are usually crowded with RX's and most are probably there for the tranny ( advisors admitted that ). Its just getting more and more annoying dealing with this car. i could take it today and have at least 2 more warranty things that need fixing, but im sick of this car and lexus in general.

its ok, not mad at you or anyone on this board. im really pissed that lexus has so many problems with the RX and it seems like they are either unwilling or don't care to do much about it. You would think that they would either do something to fix the problems or at least make it easier to fix the problems. it seems like a lot of people are having the same problems and on top of it getting very little help from the dealers.
