Was it covered by your insurance? Still $ 349, can not beat that.

I would stay away from safelite, they are the jiffy lube of autoglass company. The workmanship is terrible, but the price cant be beat.

The thousand most probably is collision deductible. Hail/rock/projectile etc are typically in another bucket. Check your insurance papers to confirm.

I also heard safelite auto glass do windshields, plus once they did fixed chip in my window through insurance. They did an okay job.

I got three auto glass company quotes from $300 to $700.
Lexus is too expensive $1400.

Every glass company I called, they asked me if my RX has a heated windshield. I do not know what it and how to findout.

Mine does have Rain Sensor.

I've used safelite twice-once on a honda. they guarantee for life. even if the windshield only lasts for two years, i could buy 4 more, they will come to my office, and i would still be better off than having my 1st one done at the dealer. I'm all for making a profit and charging a premium, but getting gouged is not my idea of luxury.

Default Windshield

I had my RX300 windshield cracked by a rock. I called my USAA insurance. And in Florida windshields are replaced with no cost to the owner. By state law. I called USAA. Gave them my info. They called the local windshield company. Then they called me within an hour. Came to my work the next day and replaced the windshield. Didnt cost me a any money.

That's great that some states have free windshield replacement through ur insurance. Unfortunatly, I don't believe Texas has that law.

Default Windshield cracked 18"

My 07 RX350 got hit by a small rock while we were on vacation. About 2" from the passenger side pillar. Next morning when I woke up, it had grown to about 8" in length (no severe changes in temperature neither). The price I have been quoted is $1750.00. This was from the dealer and from 3 glass installers. I havent checked with my insurance company yet (Progressive), but I imagine I will be paying the deductible to get it replaced. I will get it done soon, drives me crazy to drive such a beautiful machine with a gigantic crack in the windshield.

Ive never heard of a heated front glass. mirrors and rear maybe. the rain sensor just needs a new gel pack. I would suggest checking the warranties on the companies your looking to use and go with the one that has the best.

Some windshields have a heated grid where the wiper sits, but as far as I know, it has never been a option for the US RX.

Good to hear that US RX don't have heated grid on the windshield. Then the price is lower without that.
