Default Fuel cleaner additive

Do you guys use any kind of fuel system cleaner additive? Which one you all recommend that is safe??

Will this stuff mess up the head gasket?

Gumout Regane Complete Fuel System Cleaner, highest % of PEA (30-40%) of all over the counter additives sold over local auto store. PEA the chemical that is proven to remove carbon deposits, same good stuff that Chevron uses but Gumout Regane just has higher % per 12 oz bottle. Autozone periodically has it free after rebate so it is a way better deal than BG44K

Been using AMSOILS PI(Preformance Improver) for over 10 years. Put in 1 to 2 oz. per tankfull every other fill or so. Directions on the bottle. Never a problem with injectors or anything else in the fuel system.

Nothing that you add to your gas tank that specifically indicates use as a fuel additive should damage your headgasket. An excellent product that is widely available is Chevron Techron. If you're looking for something a bit more potent, BG44k is one of the strongest fuel system cleaners on the market. It isn't widely available, but your dealership should stock it in the parts department.

The oil analysis on my Audi showed an increase in lead/iron after running BG-44K. The next analysis without BG-44K showed normal levels.

Based upon that, I now use Chevron Techron.

Autozone is running a rebate on Techron at the moment for those interested and with a store nearby.

I have used it and works very well and doesnt elevate the lead levels in my used oil analysis.

To the OP, I just used Gumout Regane because of its good word of mouth testimonials on BITOG and its easy to find it at Walmart. If you use this make sure its in the clear bottle with "Regane" on it. I have heard that the others are too concentrated and leaches lead.

Redline SI-1 is a great product that supposed to have higher dosage of PEA, the drawback is it is not as widely avaliable. I don't remember CSK or Autozone carry it, perhaps only at Napa Autoparts.
BG44K is strong, and I would not use it unless there is a serious carbon buildup/knocking.
For maintenance, I have used Gumout Regane, Chevron Techron, and STP with Costco gas, my oil analysis does not show any increase of iron or lead either.
