Exclamation Question about Lexus Navigation/DVD

Hey Guys....

I have a 2004 RX 330 with navigation/camera.

In the menu it says DVD but the damn thing doesnt play dvd's. I know on G35 (friends car) he was able to unlock it from some guy and now his factory navigation screen plays dvds...

Is their a way for this on our cars?

Thanks

for the 2004 model, you need to have the rear seat entertainment system for this to work. The DVD goes in the rear player and then it can be played on the NAV screen. It won't play by putting the disc in the CD changer.

yeah the factory 2004 RX has a 6CD changer, so you can't play DVD's in there.

i have the factory RSES DVD and i cut the wires so it will show pictures up front while in motion, but without the RSES you'd need some sort of aftermarket setup to utilize the LCD screen. not sure if people have done it, but seems possible...

The nav system in the RX uses a DVD-ROM to provide map data. It is an entirely different animal than a video DVD, sorry!
