just keeping you guys updated, I have scheduled for this saturday in the morning. they said it should be under warranty and takes less than an hour.
the thing that got me is, my car is less than 7500 miles and less than 8 months old, how come i'm getting these issues? for car that cost 50 grand, should not see issues until later. i know things happen but i take car of my car like a little baby. i believe stuff like this shouldn't happen, whether it is oxygen sensor or evap system malfunction. if they said i need a new engine, i'll definitely hang myself
but oh well, since it's under warranty, why am i complaining....

The check engine light comes on whenever there is any issues detected from something very minor like a loose gas cap to something major, mostly related to emissions or runability
Don't get mad at Lexus for trying to protect your $50K investment to alert you if anything is detected wrong, you should be glad that the car is smarter than the driver

I know I am in the wrong section for a question on my 2000 ES, but i see it seems to be a common question. My Check engine light and Trac Off light just illuminated this evening. Car drives fine, I'll check fuel cap tommarow as it happened in the past. This is my dailey driver and I simply love the reliabilty so if anyone has any other info it is very much appreciated.
PS- I frequent the RX forums dailey because I also have an RX and stumbled accross this thread and had to read it all.
Thanks.....

Advanced
P1349 code
Pull the code at autozone for free to narrow down the problem. I had the P1349 code which says it could be 1. Timing valve off, 2. Oil passage failure, 3. Oil control valve failure, 4. Electrical failure. I pulled my oil control valve out and cleaned it real well there was no sludge. It turns out its the cam control solenoid, my mechanic just picked up my car to fix the issue. I hope this helps someone out there.
