I noticed something interesting a few days ago. I have a month subscription to techinfo.toyota.com so I can view all the Toyota and Lexus TSIBs. The other day, I choose "Lexus" from the 'Division' pull down and I selected "RX350" from the 'Model' pull down. Lo and behold, '2009' is listed in the 'Year' pull down. A few days earlier, it only listed 2007 and 2008. Hmm, what exactly does this mean? Not exactly sure. Unfortunately, the 2009 doesn't have any information attached to it.
I wonder if this means the next RX is going to be a RX350? Also, the fact that it is listed as a 2009, maybe it will come out in spring of 2008 as they usually do.
Just some food for thought.

I am interested in purchasing an RX350. I visited a local dealer a few days ago and asked about the 2009 model. He said that this model will be the same as the 2008 and the redesigned RX will be for 2010. He said that it will probably have a 3rd row seating option and the vehicle would be a bit longer. He didn't say when the 09 model would be available but I heard in the spring. Anyone know if this is true?
If the redesigned RX is anything similar to the vehicle shown in the Road and Track link I think I will opt for the 2008 or 9 model. I don't really care for the new design. Of course the actual production vehicle is not always like the concept.

It's official: no big redesign for 2009.
Have to wait until 2010 model for Smartkey (which the PRIUS has had since 2004) and mp3 input (which CAMRY has had since 2007) and radar parking sensors (which the CAMRY has had since 2007). Pathetic.

TORRANCE, Calif. — The prices of several Lexus vehicles sold in the U.S. are going up, on both imported and domestically produced models.
The price of the 2009 Lexus RX 350, which arrives in dealerships in February, will increase by 0.3 percent, or $100, over the final 2008 sticker. The base front-wheel-drive model will carry a suggested retail price of $37,500, while the all-wheel-drive variant is $38,900.
The carryover 2008 RX 400h hybrid is up 0.2 percent, to $41,280 for front-wheel drive and $42,680 for all-wheel drive.
Other midyear price hikes include $100 on the ES 350 and IS sedans and $500 on the LS sedan.
Prices do not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $765.
What this means to you: The continuing depreciation of the dollar against the yen eventually will have an impact on the prices of most Japanese vehicles. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

Personally I think the verdict is still out on whether or not the 2009 RX350 is redesigned or not.

Just for the sake of discussion, i will jump in. I just visited the Lexus dealer for rattling issue with my passenger door on my 2007 RX350. I was having conversation with the assistant manager in the service department. I asked him when the redesign of RX will come out. He looked into his computer for awhile and told me that it will be arriving at the dealer in summer 2008. I then asked him why it is late, usually lexus come out with new model earlier that that. he told me that probably they want to clear out the inventory on 2008 RX.
I also asked him about the SC430 and see when it is due for redesign. He again looked into his computer and told me that it will be in 2009 as 2010 model.
Again, i am not sure if all of these true or not and not sure if his source is trustworthy.

LF-xH
Don't worry, Toyota is so conservative with design, the LF-Xh will be lucky to make it 75% to production. The look, like it or not, is too drastic a change for Toyota. Look at the first to second generation RX, very subtle change. I figure a slightly more "rounded" look, but nothing close to being "stylishly" wild. I would wait it out, only because I'm not so keen on the current 2nd gen. RX.

In the Chicago area, the 2008 RX was out Feb of 07, which surprised us! My Mom bought it. I was told yesterday the 09s will be coming in a couple of weeks.

Will the new RX (2010) look like this perhaps?
I saw this news today and think that it has some 'lexus' look in this prototype. Source: http://www.thecarconnection.com/Vehi...81.A13825.html
