well, if it's true that v8 isn't really out yet which sounds right now that i think about it, it's clearly a fraud. but when they don't show the actual factory original in the picture it's usually a clue that it's a pirated/hacked copy. i couldn't find it on ebay. unless i did the search wrong, it may have been pulled off already

I saw that ad on ebay. It appears to be a hybrid disk by the picture they show of the diagnostic screen. Also, they show a picture of the screen showing the map as ver 8.0 - all previous versions have been x.1 and not x.0 versions. And finally if you read their feedback they say in there that it is a copied dvd and not an original.
In my opinion - you're getting a hybrid 7.1 disk with the 5.1 loading file to allow you to over ride the lockout with a key sequence.
And finally, they sell it for $50. + $20. shipping, - beware.

That makes sense. I know for a fact that there is a text file on the dvd that controls the display of the map ver on the touch screen. I saw that when i made a backup copy of my original. it's just one line, the ver #. You could easily change that to be 8.0 or anything else you wanted before you burned a hybrid. definitely not legit.
