Is the RX roomier? which makes more sense?
My father loves the RX, but the RX is absolutely last on my list due to the model change next year, the FWD, and its chickness appeal.
But my father says the GS is small and 3 people cant fit in the back seat...everywhere I look seems to say the GS has more leg room and such. Is he retarded? Sorry I'm fuming

it is true, the GS is the smallest sedan next to the IS obviously. the ES is even bigger. Seeing as how you dont like the FWD, then you wont like the ES, but that has a surprising amount of legroom and trunk space. in fact, i was very surprised by the loaner car given to me.
keep in mind that this is for your dad, so you really wont be driving it. if he likes it, then he should get the RX since it is a great car. Or, he can wait until april to get the 2009 model change.
if you need the car now, i advise you to look into the ES, but it sounds like your mind is made up for the GS. However, isnt the GS a little too sporty for the old man?
btw, not very nice comments about your dad or the RX...lol.

I just got back from a road trip from SF to LA driving the RX, and I'm giving the RX all the props. We filled every square inch of the trunk and rear seats with luggage and family "junk," and the RX accelerated smoothly and displayed great passing power. Averaged about 26 - 28 MPG with the AC on. The RX is what it is, a luxury people mover, but put me in the driver's seat, and I'll use all 270 horses!
I drove the GS350 at this year's Taste of Lexus, and it just didn't have that thrill or excitement. Now the IS350, that's a different story

First of all, is this car for you or your dad? If it is for your dad, then you really have no say, and calling him names just because he is buying a car you don’t like is childish. Have you ever thought that your father doesn’t really care about all that gadgets you mentioned on that list.

my last car was an '04 RX 330, I now have an '07 GS350 AWD. Personally, there is no comparision between the two...the GS is on another level. But it all depends on what you're looking for. If you want an SUV, the RX is hard to beat....it is a great truck.

I have 08' RX350, Breakwater Blue, 18", Navi, Premium and Towing prep, got it back in March for $42500 before tax. I traded in my 06' Pilot EXL (I couldn't stand the lazy steering and rattling noise), so I only had to pay the difference.
