Default opinions on the running boards...retrofit?

1. What do those who have the running boards have to say? Worthwhile?
1a. Senior citizen worthy?

2. Do you think the dealer can retrofit them...and if so how much would they cost? Have any of you guys done it?

Easy to install. I did mine in my garage in about a day and a half. Obviously I didn't work straight through as it was a weekend so I had a lot of time to do it, but it probably could be done in about 3-4 hours by a pro with a lift. It really only involves removing the original side skirts, measuring where you are going to drill the holes, drilling the holes, than bolting the brackets on the car, than bolting the running boards on the brackets.

Functionality wise I think they were okay. Did the job for me and my wife and my baby son at the time could use it to get in the car. It also made it easier for me to wash the roof of the car. I mostly bought it to give the side profile of the RX a more beefy look though.

Any issues with them being slippery or getting your pants dirty?

For me no. It comes with a rubbery pad on the top of the side step so it is not slippery. I'm not 100% sure about the pants getting dirty. I never had a problem and my wife never complained, but that is just our experience.
