Our RX330 just exceeded the factory warranty (Still have powertrain remaining). We are considering purchasing an extended warranty through a third party--specifically Warranty Direct or Auto Services Co. Does anyone have any experience with these types of extended warranties? We received one with the pre-owned IS we bought from a private party and it was fantastic. Unfortunately, Mercury Insurance Group will not let us purchase a warranty directly though them.

Extended warranty questions come up frequently. Do a search and you will get plenty of information.

For your particular question .. please investigate financially how strong the insurer is. You dont want to part with money and find the company is not around when you have to file a claim.

Lexus warranty is typically more costly, but they will be around. If they are not there will be more at stake.

Would have been a good idea to get the Lexus extended warranty, which by now you know you can not get because the original warranty expired.

Salim's recommendations are sound. Research and patience. There are a ton out there....get recommendations from people you know. Good luck.

I am going to get mine extended but I will purchase the Lexus Platinum.
