Default lights on chime

Dose the RX have a "lights on" chime in the manual mode when you get out of the car and leave the lights on?

Darn, I was hopping mine just didn't work. In the "auto" mode it's not a problem, on bad weather day's I want my lights on, but I forget. Oh well.

Check the owners manual ... I have not tested it myself, but the lights are turned off automatically after a while.

Auto they shut off after a preset programmed delay.

Lock-lock (2 times) lock they shut off immediately.

Lock once in manual on mode ... they shut off in 10 (?) minutes or so.

Now if the battery is strong, it is not a problem but with a weak battery it may be too long.

It would be great if some one can confirm the above.

* In RX300 in manual mode I have left the lights on and the next morning they were off.

That is correct. Even it is on position, it will turn off after a while. I am not sure what the timming is.

If you leave the headlights in the auto mode for RX350 the settings are:

After turning off the ignition and all the doors are closed, if the headlights are ON or in the AUTO position, the lights can be programmed for the following:
1. Turn off immediately, when the vehicle is turned off and the driver door is opened.
2. Turn off in 30 seconds (Standard)
3. Turn off in 60 seconds
4. Turn off in 90 seconds

Thanks.

The only reason I ask was because the wife and I went to lunch and when I was walking up to the car, I used the remote to unlock it. Then I saw the tail lights on and assumed that I left the lights on the whole time. I guess when the remote unlocks the door, it turns the lighte back on???

Probably not - if the taillights were on, they had been on in your absence - the remote won't turn them back on for you. I keep mine in the "auto" mode most of the time - although my wife switched them on manually in a heavy rain, then forgot about them when she arrived home. The next morning I expected to find the battery dead, but sometime in the intervening 8 hours they had switched off - leaving me with plenty of juice to start the car.

I can't find the reference now, but I think they will shut off in an hour or so. Don't know if it's based on a timer or battery voltage. Having just replaced the battery a few days ago, I don't really want to test it to be sure . .

sama is right, the lights shut off no matter what at 30 seconds. you can try that in your garage.

as for the rear lights, that is impossible. must have been the sun shining on the LEDs

I can confirm that lights turn off (even in manual mode) after about 5 mins or so. That is true for both the headlights and interior lights. After all, we paid premium for our Toyota's, so it's a nice feature to have

I found it in that 10 lb. owners manual.
They turn off 30 sec. after the door is closed or instantly when the remote lock is used.

The 30 sec. is the default setting and can be changed in the personal settings.
