Default "I agree" bypass on 2004 RX?

okay, so i did a search and it looks like the 7.1 navi version eliminates the need to touch the "I agree" button. However, it's not totally clear to me if this will work on a 2004 RX330. My dealer says no.

correct?

thanks.

From what I've read, it seems to work on all Lexus and Toyota's before 2008.
I haven't been able to get it working on our 2008 400h and I've yet to see anyone say it's working on the same year and model, but you should be fine with your RX.

You have Generation 4 navigation and the 2007 and later are Generation 5. They are not compatable.

There is a 7.1 disc for all gens. I don't know about Gen4, but I've read reports that the "I Agree" is still there on Gen3 systems even with the 7.1 DVD. However, the hybrid override disc still works which I think is more valuable than skipping a screen that takes a second to press a button.

Edit:
I swear the original post was also asking about the hybrid disc working on the 04.
I must have my threads crossed.

i agree, pressing the button is not a big deal but since i was thinking of replacing mine anyway (car bought in July of 2003), i was just curious.

thanks for the feedback, doesn't look like it will work.

I had asked for a comp upgrade to 7.1 at the 5000 mile service on our 2008 RX350 - I got the blank stare. I really didn't expect them to do it since I had not purchased the car at the dealer - I used a broker.

At my wife's urging, I contacted the broker and asked if he could contact the selling dealership with whom he has a high sales volume relationship. He said he would ask for the upgrade since when he delivered the car to the house, the system did not recognize my address.

The dealership (Lexus of Riverside, CA) agreed and is mailing me the 7.1 disk.

I know where the Navigation DVD player is, but is it something I can swap out myself?

Booyah,

Thanks, I'll give it a try once the disk arrives and let you know how it turns out.

Default iPod interface has "I Agree" override

Another possible solution is to install one of the several iPod interfaces available in the aftermarket. I installed a Vaistech iPod interface in my wife's '04 RX330 (with factory radio and nav) and one of its side-features is an automatic "I Agree" override after a five second delay .

Funky thing is that if I push "I Agree" prior to the iPod interface doing it, the automated "screen touch" hits the "-" key instead, and the map zooms out one level .

Booyah,

Thanks. The 7.1 disk arrived and I put it in today. After figuring out the little slide/button that opens and closes the drive, it loaded itself in about 60 seconds. The other good news is that almost all the data remained in the system memory - only a few map features had to be reset.

What does one do with a 6.1 disk?

Rick
