Default Very close to buying an rx330 HELP

Ok guys the dealer I work at has a 2004 Rx330 for sale. Its on for 27,999 with 44k miles on the clock.

Im sure I can lower the price by at least 4k if not more.

So with that said I can get it for about 22-23k. Is this a good deal?

The car is in IMMACULANT condition. New tires, fresh oil, good brakes, CLEAN interior. Its white on beige with no navi.

Is there any problems in these 04 rx330's I should check on the car before I buy it? Thanks in advance for all ur input guys. This is gonna be for my mom (Thanksgiving gift)

23 sounds like a good deal. If this is a CPO, ask the dealer for the service records (if any). If its from another dealer, you can still bring the VIN to a lexus dealer to get it checked out.

as for problems....getting a second year would mean that all the bugs are gone. no big problems on these cars. be aware that there is a transmission hesitation. its not a big problem, but its a bit annoying

In my book, after driving cars without built-in navs and ones with them, I would never ever consider buying a car, especially a Lexus which the best navis of all, without a nav.

I understand where ur coming from. But navi isn't a big deal for me or my mom. She drives locally, not too much out of city driving, and even if she has to, I do the driving and I'm a human navigation system.

But as far as the price goes and all. How does it sound.

RXSF thanks for ur quick response. As you too own the same car I value ur opinion greatly. Hopefully I can go lower then 22-23k, cause the owner likes me. We'll see how it goes Im gonna talk to him tomorrow about price.

I also carfaxed this car, and it has a 1 owner guarantee and no accidents, rollback or anything. Sounds pretty good to me. But like u said Im still gonna Check with lexus about service.

Anyone else with input please feel free to post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was reading reviews of the 04 rx330 when I found some info I thought I should verify here...

--Rotors were changed out at 27k. Cause of very bad vibrations.

--Rear backup lights are very weak?

--Dash lights flicker at times??

Any other problems with the 2004 RX330??

lol i dont know why people are saying the white backup lights in the back are weak. its not like they are important, and they arent that weak to begin with.

i have never seen dash lights flicker

warped rotors are common, but they are usually resurfaced "under warranty"

Ive just thought of one

headlights casings are often changed "under warranty" because the seal breaks and wter condensation forms inside

yes warranty is 4 years or 50K miles. you should search the forum for a list of TSBs that are provided for the car and maybe bring that with you to the lexus dealer to see if anything needs to be corrected.

the transmission hesitation that i mentioned above had a fix for the ecu to be reflashed...some say it didnt work, some says it helps a little. i never actually got the reflash done because its not reversible and my service advisor said i might not like the results. so yeh, check your lexus service record first.

I would hop on that price, especially if you can get the CPO. In addition, because of some heresay about engine sludge, I would want to see the service records.

For $22K and 44K miles, I doubt that you will be disappointed.

I agree, it sounds like a real deal. By all means, get a copy of the service records, but don't be concerned about sludge - that was only a small issue on the '99 and some '00 RX 300's. Your mom is going to be so proud of you!

This is one of the best color combos on RX, IMHO and many dealers in my area charge premium.

I doubt the dealer will discount it to 22-23K, however, unless this vehicle has a salvage title or smthg else is wrong with it. A more realistic price from a dealer, even if its non-CPO, is like 25K+ ttl. If you can get it for 22-23K, jump on it right away, great deal.

Well guys I talked the price down to 24k, Still not bad from the 28k from before.

I also checked service history. The 30k has been done in 06. Regular oil changes, Hood shocks were changed. and Rear spoiler was changed in august of 07 because it was coming off or becoming loose. So I'm going to sleep on it tonight and see what I do tomorrow. Thanks for all the input guys!!

dont think in terms of what was the original price and now that you talked him down 4K then you're getting a good deal. Try to shop around and see what would the same vehicle cost elsewhere in your area. There's a crapload of RXs coming off lease around the country, especially non-NAVI.
