We had a fairly long trip over the holiday. We were driving on a fairly quiet freeway @ 75mph. I could hear the wind noise coming from around the ear level. I suspected the air was leaking in through the window. I tried opening and closing the window, but it didn't help. Has any of you experienced this? Any recommendation? Thanks.

You didn't mention what year RX, is it new, have you changed tires, or were you carrying anything on the roof rack? We regularly drive our 05 at 75 to 85 and have yet to hear any obvious or annoying wind noise. Now once you get up around 100, there is plenty of noise! One culprit to check would be roof rack cross bars, make sure they aren't turned backwards as some RX were delivered this way. Should be an arrow indicating front.

I looked at the TSBs for the 2008 and there aren't any regarding wind noise. However, there was one way back on the 2004/2005 RX330. It is NV008-04 dated Dec. 22 2004. It says:
"Some vehicles may exhibit wind noise coming from the front door side window glass. The following repair has been developed to improve this condition."
The solution was to replace the inner door glass weatherstrip with an improved weatherstrip. The previous part number for the driver side weatherstrip was 68172–48031. The new part number was 68172–48032.
This TSB is only for the 2004 and 2005 model year vehicles but maybe it is happening again on the 2008?

I had an issue in my 04 with wind noise. I could reduce the noise level by tapping the window down button to take the pressure off the weatherstripping a bit. This was corrected by that TSB previously mentioned. The fix lasted about a year and then the symptoms returned. Lexus fixed it again recently and all is now quieter.

Sorry I didn't give enough details. Thanks for all the responses. Mine is 08AWD. I didn't have anything on the roof. I think the noise is always there. It's just because some roads are rougher. It wasn't that windy that day. Just average normal wind. When I drove on a smooth quiet free way, I could hear it very clearly. My wife also said she could hear it on her passenger's side too. I think I'll give the dealer a call. I hope I can re-produce the noise in their area.

So I brought it in for a check. As I expected, they said they couldn't hear any noise. I drove home and could still hear it but they said they didn't. Anyone else has this problem? Any recommendation? It's kind of bothering once you know it's there.

Take it in again and ask that a technician take a drive with you and point out the noise to him. Ask him about the how the wind noise is lessened when you slightly release the pressure on the window. Tell him you are aware of a TSIB covering this issue and want this corrected in your vehicle.

I would have taken a drive with them but didn't have time on that day. They left me a message saying that the vehicle was ready to be picked up! Thanks for the note. I'll bring up the TSB next time.

Lexus dealerships get a sizable amount of cash from corporate for good customer satisfaction surveys. They want you to answer their survey that you are completely satisfied. If they get some bad comments their quality customer compensation package goes away. This represents a fairly significant amount of money for a dealership so let them know how you feel about how they have handled this issue and what you expect from them in the future.

"DIDN'T HAVE TIME", that's customer avoidance, not customer service. With an 08' they should be bending over backwards, not asking you to bend over frontwards.
I won't get into the issue of wind noise as I have complained enough about it.
