My RX330 is in need of new tires. The OEM Michelins are almost to the wear bars. I've searched TireRack and Tires.com and there really isn't a large selection of 17" tires for this car. It seems like the Yokohama YK520's are about the best tires for the money that I could find. What are you guys running on your RX and how do you like them?

We are the running Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's on our AWD RX330, but we have the 18" tires.
Do a search and you will see positive results on the Alenza. We also looked at the Discount Tire offered YK520's, but in the end, we went with the Bridgestone.
We are quite pleased with the Alenza.

I just bought my RX, but it came with a fresh set of Hankook Ventus tires. Pretty quiet at highway speeds and good handling, part of Hankooks High performance line. Hopefully they last long (Unlike those RSA's).

The RX eats up the Michelins because its a softer compound tire which also gives you a softer ride. We have gotten about 30k out of the Michelins, I guess thats not bad considering it being 18's. I think for what they cost they should last alot longer. I was told the Yokohama was a good tire to go with.

I got 48,000 miles off my Michelins on the RX330 with 17 inch tires. Amazing brand of tires. I bought Michelins for my 2000 Infiniti QX4 7 years ago and they lasted 45,000 miles. I have no RX now but a 2006 ML350 and I just got Michelins on them few days ago. They are the best tires for SUV and give smooth ride and great all season traction.

I had the Michelin MXV4's on my 2005 RX330 Thundercloud and had 33800 miles on them when I replaced them just 10 days ago. While they rode nice and were quiet I was not overly impressed with getting only 34K on them, at least not for what they cost. I just put the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas on and so far really like them. Ride nice, quiet with just a bit of feeling slight "tar strips". The day I got them in Fargo, ND at Tires Plus I ended up driving home on snow and icy roads. Leaving Fargo on I-94 the traffic was doing only 30/35 mph. I was running around the 35 mph range just getting a feel for how the tires were performing on snow and ice. After about 20 miles I was up to around 45/50 for another 30 miles or so with a little better road conditions. After about 70 miles altogether and with improving roads was up in the 65 mph range. Now this weekend we got 5 inches of snow and just around town I drove with comfidence both with the start and stop performance of the tire. Certainly didn't drive it like it was summer out and the roads were dry and hot, just drove it at around normal in town speeds and had no problems. Think the Alenza's will handle normal winter conditions around here fairly well. Glad I changed to them. By the way, Tires Plus had them at 34 psi but after getting home and using them a bit I lower the pressure to 32 psi.

Just for a change of pace, and in the interest of equal opportunity, I recently replaced the 18" Michelin MXV4s on my 2004 RX330 with a set of incredibly inexpensive Kumho's through Tire Rack. The Michelin's had about 41k on them.
IMHO, the Kumhos are a significant upgrade to the Michelins. Quieter, better dry and wet traction, etc. Tread wear TBD since they are so new. Are they better than the Alenza's? I don't know, but they're about 2/3 the price. That's decent money when you're talking about a full set.

I replaced my Michelin's at 32k. I could have probably got another 3 - 5k (according to the tire guy) out of them, but they were squealing around turns and winter was approaching ...
i have 56k on the car now and before winter started (windows down), I heard squealing going around stuff that normally I wouldn't. I'll probably wait another 2k or so (before I decide to keep it or return the lease).
I love the tires. They grip well in the summer, like mentioned above are quite quiet (very important!!), and even more important to me is they do very well in the winter snow. I agree they should last longer for what we pay for them, but all things considered they're a good tire and i'll get the same again.

Our 05 RX330 had 18" Michelins and they did pretty well. Our 06 RX400h had Goodyear RS-A and they were crap. At 25K miles, even though we still had good tread left, I got rid of them. They are slick slick slick. Wet they spin. Snow they spin. Now we have dedicated winter tires - Pirelli scorpions and they work awesome in the snow and even the dry winter roads are better with them. I'll probably get new 19 or 20 inch rim/tire combo for the summers next srping.
