My RX "seat belt reminder" is only a backup. My primary warning system is usually to be found in the right seat. Consequently I don't get out of the driveway without my seatbelt securely fastened. Maybe I'm just cheap. I paid for all of these airbags, crush zones, seatbelt pretensioners, etc, I'll be hanged if I ignore them now.
When I got out of the hospital after surgery a few years ago, I was not allowed to drive for a couple of months - the doctors fearing an air bag deployment would open up my chest rather quickly and painfully. My wife had to drive the RX (300, then) wherever I had to go. Being chauffeured is not a bad experience, but having my wife throw a hand across my chest when she made a sudden stop was a little disconcerting. Mothers are very protective of their children, and I discovered they are very difficult to re-program - even after all these years.

I am sure what I am about to say is in poor taste but that was what I did thirty years ago in my beat up Capri.... I still remember the pretend slap on my face.... so sweet.

KeysRX300, the information I got is from this forums. I can't remember exactly where but when I got the info, I store it in my blackberry so I can share it with all of you when need. I do have info for
1. Reset the maintainance light
2. One touch sunroof operation.
Let's me know if you need them.

Mine goes out automatically when I buckle up!
Oth, don't wear it and let chance and Darwin's theory prove itself out.
Seriously, after a VERY serious accident the day before I got married (and spent the next three weeks in the hospital) I am an advocate for seatbelts. Can't imagine the logic (or lack of) for not wearing one. I once had a neighbor who said "I had a friend who got thrown out of a car and all those who stayed in, burned up." My retort? I read of a guy who fell out of an airpane at 10,000 without a parachute and, through fate, karma, or good luck, somehow managed to survive. Don't think I want to try and do that myself.
Ok, off my soapbox.
