Question Possible VSC button?

I was reading stuff about VSC button underneath the steering a little earlier so I decide to check if my RX has one and I realized there isn't in my RX. There is only a low tire pressure reset button...
So I decide to reach my fingers and see if there is any wiring run thru any of the empty slot on each side. I discover a wiring on the right empty slot. It has an light blue adapter connecting to the empty button. I am not sure what's for so I didn't pry the empty slot and see the what's the light blue adapter is like. So would that possibly be the VSC button? Any insights?

Holy crap, I'm going to check my wife's car as soon as she gets home. If I can buy the part from the dealer (or online) and put it in myself, I'll be SOOOOOO happy. That's the one regret I have about not getting a 2008.

I wondered why do they have to take the button out?

I imagine it's some combination of making people who don't know how to drive safer, and cutting down on shenanigans and tomfoolery. I know the latter is PRECISELY what I intend to engage in should this mod wind up being the real deal.

Wonder how much it would cost to get a VSC button... Since I never order parts before, do I have to get the part from Lexus or if Toyota shares any of the same parts or even elsewhere?

The button does not work on my RX... and I think I made a VERY big stupid mistake... I read the manual about TRAC OFF button and it says it's for 2WD only and mine is a AWD. No wonder there is no effect when I press it. So I dunno what to do with the the button now ... OMG I am so dumb!!

On my wife's 08 AWD model, pressing the button once will light up TRAC OFF.
If you press and hold it for 3 sec, both TRAC OFF and VSC OFF light up.
Did you try holding the button in for 3 sec to see what happens?

I hold it for 3 sec and nothing shows on the dash. Also when I press the button once the TRAC button on dash is not showing up... I looked thru the wiring i saw both are hooked to the adapter. What else am I missing? Any insights?

How do you know it is not disabling the trac when you push the button?

Since there was no off button to begin with, I am sure they left out any light in the instrument panel that would read "trac off". You have to go out on some ice, spin the tires, and see if it kills the engine, or if it applies power to the spinning wheels. Let us know what happens.

I did get stuck twice going up my driveway this winter. There is a steep start off point, and it was icy. When the wheels spun I applied gas like I normally would, and the system stepped in and killed the power. The result, I was stopped dead! I think the traction control is great when you are on a highway going 50 mph and the wheels spin. It stinks when you are going 5 mph and spinning the wheels hoping for some grip!

BTW, when you installed the button how did you connect the wiring to it. Did you cut into a wire and connect it to the button? Was there a multipin connector there already to hook up the button to?
