Gear shift question
Question:
On a gear shift, I see that there is "D" for drive and you can also shift it parallell to that into "4" place. What is "4"? 4-wheel drive?
I can out it in "D" and drive and I can also out it in "4" and drive. Please let me know

"D" is for 5 spd. operation. 4 locks it in 4th (no O/D) for hard grades or towing.
