Default Almost ready to purchase RX350 in NC - would welcome any advice

Hi - I am getting ready to trade in my Toy. Highlander for a RX350 white or blue - haven't decided on color yet. This will be my first Lexus purchase and I don't know alot about what options to get and so on. I do know that I want AWD instead of FWD and all the basics like leather and so on. Anyone else out there in North Carolina bought one recently that is willing to share their out the door price and so on? I hate going in to buy with a trade that I still owe money on but at least I am not upside down in equity! Thanks!

The Premium Plus Package is a nice option, it includes leather seats and high intensity discharge headlights. Although, you have to look pretty hard to find a RX without leather seats these days.
The RX being a pretty old design, you should be able to buy one close to invoice price. Just go to Edmunds.com and figure out what the invoice price is plus options and start from there. You need to take the Edmund invoice price and add the Lexus advertising fee which is about $800 and the dealer's financial holdback which is another 500 or 600 bucks. Ask the dealer to show you his invoice and you will get the exact cost for the 2 items listed above.

Good Luck

I just bought one two days ago w/performance plus package in Portland OR. MSRP was $42945, I paid $39209 cash, plus about $200 various fees. My first Lexus and I love it. As close as you can get to an absolutely perfect automobile.

The only legit fee to add to the invoice found on edmunds or kbb is the advertising fee which varies by car but should be around $500. The dealer holdback is not added, it is already added to the invoice found on edmunds, along with the wholesale finance thing they have on Lexus invoices. Remember too that holdback is refunded back to the dealer so it's their profit. Price varies so much on region but I would go for at least invoice but you should try to get below because the 2009 will be coming out in Feb. When we bought our 07 last year Nov., the 08 were going to come out in 3 months in Feb, so we got way under invoice, it was $37,500+ttl this was for a car with a MSRP of $44,100. You did miss the December to Remember sale which usually has incentive for dealers to clear out their stock. The price I got was with purchasing nothing extra, many times people will post that they got a car for invoice or below but fail to mention that they bought Lojack, extended warranty or other crap that the dealer made money on, so of course they got the car at invoice.

You guys on the west coast are lucky. Here in Charlotte, there's only 1 Lexus dealer. Next dealer is 70 miles away. Anyway, we tried to get invoice but the best we could do was 41500 (msrp 45881). We needed a car now (other car was totaled) and could not wait for 09's to come out. Anyway my wife's very happy with it...she got the color she wanted with awd and nav
