You are right, it is based on a RAV4 platform. More information Here

The Venza is based on the Camry platform, which shares it with the Rav4. A smaller Lexus SUV may be based on the Venza (which is the current rumor spreading throughout Car Chat).
The RX is based on the Highlander platform. If there is any indication, the 2010 RX and the new Highlander will be more closely related in design.

That JX has to be a photoshop, it has all the lines of the current RAV, with the exception of the nose which looks grafted on.
Still, a Lexus version of the V6 Rav might be interesting, depending on what they do to smooth out the body lines and differentiate it from the RAV. We came close to buying a new one, except that we could not get the options that the wife wanted - so she opted for an IS AWD.
