Does anyone have this feature? Sounds really cool but haven't been able to find one in St.Louis. Dealer says they are not shipped to this region. Went on several websites of dealers in the southeast and used the "build it" feature but the MPM pkg isn't offered, yet it is still listed as an option by Lexus. What gives?

When first offered in the '04 model (CY '03) the multipanel roof was available only in some areas on the West Coast. I suspected at the time it threw too much of a heat load on the AC system, from solar radiation and lack of insulation. There were reports of problems with leaks between the panels, of both air and water. After "retiring" the option for nearly five years to work the bugs out, let's see what they offer this year.

I saw a multi-panel moonroof RX 350 here in SoCal last year, and in some Asian countries the RX 350 typically comes with the multi-panel moonroof in most configurations.
But yes it is very rare in the U.S. Nowadays I see more of the ES 350 UL pkg with their own panoramic roof.

I didn't realize it was discontinued for a while and sounds like it may be limited to west coast distribution. I'll see if I can find one at a dealer in L.A. Thanks for the info.

Thanks, I like the look sans the rails. I am surprised this feature is so rare but then you couldn't have the rails which people evidently prefer and you can't have the factory installed DVD.

The dealers in St. Louis do not like to special order cars, but if you push them hard enough they will. Keep in mind it will take some time to get it in. If you have worked with a specific dealer before they may be more willing to do a special order for you.
