Default RX330 Back Wiper Blade Replacement

Hello to all.
Need to replace the back wiper blade. Is it possible to change the arm, like the front blades, or is it easy enough to reinsert the rubber piece? I've contacted the dealership, but live a few hours away so won't be going in that direction for several weeks at least. I need a step by step on how to get this fixed. Right now the blade is unuseable since the rubber piece is just hanging there, and we're getting snow.

thanks for your help.

i believe it changes out like the rest of the wiper blades. you just remove the old rubber and put in the new. you shouldn't have to replace the arm unless you broke it somehow.

this is what you need:

Be careful as a worn wiper can potentially scratch the glass.

These are generic instructions for wiper insert.

On some [rx 300 front wipers and GS400 and SC400] the wiper blade can be separated from the arm by squeezing a lock release and sliding the wiper arm out. In any case the procedure to replace the insert is the same as listed below.

Lift the arm away from the glass.
Typically the bottom of the insert has a lock (looks like an arrow). Give it a gentle but firm yank and the rubber piece will slide out.
There are two metal strips that give tension and rigidity to the insert, and can be sharp.
Pay attention to them as they will practically fall off once you have the insert out.
Remember to transfer them to the new insert the way they come off (they have a curve to match the glass).
Insert the new setup making sure the claws of the arm are in the right groove.
Give it the last bit of push to snap in the lock head.
Make the final check to see all claws are in their groove and the insert slides smoothly as you arch and straighten the wiper.

Salim had it right. Here's the trick: To flip the wiper up, you will need to pry off the base cap (end of wiper). Then you can flip the wiper and then follow generic procedure. I learned this the last time I tried to change it. Good luck.

No need to replace the wiper arm, unless you had issues with the wiper...there was a TSB on this. They changed the wiper arm. Normally, changing the insert will do the trick.

Can someone please tell me how to do this on an '05. I bought a new wiper arm a couple of weeks ago and have been unable to get the cap off. I tried prying apart the upper and lower parts of the bottom of the cap, but still couldn't get it to lift off. I don't want to break it!

Gently slide a taped flat screw driver and pry the base cover off. It should just pop off. I will try doing it tonight with PICS.....

Then you can unbolt the old wiper arm...or else, swing it out to replace the wiper insert.

Has anyone used a RainX wiper?

I was just thinking about it for my next pair.

How long do they last also?

I thought about getting the ICON blades from Bosch. They are buy one free one from PepBoys right now. Our RX wil take: 24" Dr $26 and 19" Pass $22. But I had purchased 2 sets of refills from Lexus...so I will stick to OEM for now.

I use to change all of my blades when they started streaking. But I found a tip in the detailing section of this web page. The blades can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. This removes the dirt that causes the streaking.

Since I started cleaning my blades. I havent replaced one wiper blade.

Thanks. Where should I try sliding the screwdriver? Under the top of the cap or under the bottom "wings' of the cap?
