How can I get rid of the "maintance required" icon after I had the oil and filter changed. Is there a reset button somewhere or does the dealer have to do this and forgot:

You didn't say what year, which would help. However, for my 05 all you do is put the key in the ignition, push in and hold the odometer reset button, then turn to key to run, but not to start. After a few seconds the maintenance icon goes away.
Of course, the dealer SHOULD have done that when servicing.

all you have to do is have the engine off and key in the off position. then push and hold down the ODO button (the thing that flips the screen from odo, tripA, tripB). keep holding it and then turn the key (without starting the car) to the ACC position. watch the screen (you should still be holding the button) and a little animation goes on the screen (like lines moving). when its done, let go and your set for another 5K miles.
