I find service people at my Lexus untrained about (in my case)Pg. 410 manual of 2007 RX350. I also faced this when for some unknown reason the local Toyota dealership (used for oil changes) set the back door to default position with no warning. My wife likes to apporoach car with groceries and only have to push once on Pwr. Dr. button even with doors locked. Now, until we get back into Lexus, she has to open all doors (two pushes) and then push Pwr. Dr. button.

The dealer can reset these functions easily, and if you have the car in for something else, he will usually (often; sometimes) do this at no extra charge.
By the way, you can have the codes set to unlock ALL doors on the first push, eliminating the need for the double click under any circumstances; I have mine set this way and it's an '04. I believe that the default setting is to open the rear door with a single push, even when the side doors are locked. On the '04, however, that option is not available to me. I recall reading that this was changed on '05 and subsequent. Finally, I believe that you can set the number of annoying beeps to 0 during the opening and closing. On the '04, it can be set as low as 2, but no lower.
Get the list of functions that can be changed (it's on this site somewhere), print it out, circle the ones you want, and get the dealer to make the changes. I've seen them do it, and it takes about 5 minutes, at most. They just plug their portable reader into the connection under the driver's side of the dash, and call up the function on the screen and enter the code for the option selected for that function.
Most of the options are fine at the default setting, but depending on your situation and driving habits, you might want to change a few. (EG: when I put the car in park, all doors unlock; if you have small kids, you might want only the driver's door to unlock.)

One push to unlock all doors is convenient but is not safe. I will spare every one by not going into the details, but to say the least a very unpleasant thing happened to a family member [luckily it ended well]

Convenient and safe are tradeoffs to be made depending on our circumstances.
I like all four doors to unlock when I shift into park, but if I still had small children in the car with me all the time, I would not want that. Same for the beeping on the opening of the rear door. With kids around the car all the time, I might want that set to 4 or 6; as it is, I have it set to 2, because 0 is not available on my model.
There is also an option to lock all doors as soon as you shift out of park, or to lock all doors when you reach 12 mph.
So look over the list of options, and have them set for what works for your situation; this beats having no options at all.
