Ready to make a move.... What has been your recent experience with prices on the '08s ? How much below msrp? Also: what are the dealer traps these days...you know...the extra things they want to sell you before you sign. AND-- any special deals on financing right now?
Thanks. Jim.
Thanks. Jim.

They are pushing Resistall at our dealer. Treatment for inside and outside protection. I didn't quite get the details but supposedly don't need to wax the car, protects the inside against stains like scotch guard (my words). sounds like miracle juice. That came up in the finance office after the deal was 'done'. I think they wanted $500 or so. That's usually when they will hit you up for Lojack etc.

Read the postings on "2008 RX at invoice" from YWW. People seem to think you may be able to get $2k+ below invoice (check edmunds or kbb websites for the exact invoice price). Many dealers are tacking on a $500+ advertising fee to boost their bottom line as well as extended warranties which have like a 1,000% dealer markup. Find out exactly all the charges they are adding on before you agree to anything. Some charge $200 for dealer prep too.

For someone buying, you would definitely want the 08 vs the 09. It is an identical car (with the exception of some different colors and pebble beach edition), and you can get it for $2k under invoice, depending where you live.

Thanks to all for your comments. We are now happy owners of the 08 AWD in Savannah (beige). With a trade-in, it's hard to know what the "real deal" is... but this forum saved us, at the very least... $4K. I owe you folks a lunch!!!

You can get a 2009 cheap. If you can still find and '08... and it's sticker is 45k, go for at least 5k less. This is a buyers market and if you have the means i recommend taking advantage of the deals currently available.

There is a dealer in northern NJ (Prestige) with many 08 RX 350's left in stock. Thats where I got my 2008 RX with navigation from two weeks ago. I got an amazing deal. They also had 2009 RX's, but I paid a few thousand under invoice for the 2008. If anyone in the NJ area wants to know the salesperson I worked with at Prestige, please email me at greatwicked@comcast.net. This salesperson was really nice, patient, and not at all pushy. He was a pleasure to work with.

I was recently quoted invoice for a 2009 in NorCal, but either want 2008 for amazing deal or am willing to wait. For those in NorCal, Lexus of Pleasanton seems to have bought up much of the remaining 2008s but they unfortunately did not have any in Flint Mica *sigh*
