My 07 RX350 w/ towing package is rated for 3500 lb. maximum towing capacity. So I'm looking for a single axle trailer - preferably covered - as follows - any ideas or experience ?
-- size is about 5'x10' floor
-- strong (welded steel or aluminum)
-- lightweight - about 1000~1200 lbs
I can search the web but I thought someone here would have some recommendations - good or bad ..Thanks !

Have you checked Lowes Home Improvement? I picked up an uncovered 4x6 trailer for $450 (after coupon). This was better than any other place I could find (new). They had a lot of covered ones, unsure of weight.

I don't tow anything myself, but I do have a buddy who does, and I know from working with him that if you want a lightweight trailer, you have to get an aluminum one. They are much lighter, very strong, but easy to manage when off the car. The downside, of course, is that they cost a lot more than the steel ones.
That's about all I know about towing and trailers, other that to say that after looking into it, my friend paid up and got the aluminum one.
