I have 35,000 miles on my Michelin mxv4 18" tires and they need to be replaced by my next service. I was thinking about replacing them with Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas, but heard the mpg drops by 2 or 3mpgs. Also the ride isn't as nice and there is more road noise.

Do a search, not quite as you stated. The Alenza's are getting good reviews.

I replaced my tires with the Alenza's about 5k miles ago and experienced no loss in mpg. The ride is better than the old tires and the handling is much improved. FInally they are quiet, much quieter than the OEM rubber.
