Does your interior, if ivory or light gray leather, show stains????
Has anyone found that these lighter colored leather interiors stain or discolour easily?
We currently have the black leather interior, however are looking for another vehicle and thought of getting the lighter colored leather.
We have had people mention that the lighter colors tend to stain easily, even when wearing jeans. Do not want to be continually cleaning the interior seats because clothing is rubbing off onto the seat leathers.
Appreciate any comments on this matter.
Thanks,
-- Jim

If you wash your jeans in a strong salt water solution it will set the color. After that there is no problem. I wear jeans in my 04 tan leather and have never had an issue with color transfer. This works for me but YMMV. I wear all kinds of jeans but mostly 501 or Lands End faded indigo.

I wear jeans all the time and haven't seen any discoloration of the grey leather in my 05. I did have a cheaper leather coat that discolored the back of the drivers seat but leather cleaner removed the discoloration.

I have the tan colored seats. My brand new dark jeans does rub off a little on the seat but comes right off when applying a cleaner/conditioner on them. You'll be good as it wont stay on.

LOL, just because the leather is black doesn't mean it doesn't stain. All leather stains. My light gray interior has stains on it too, but I use Lexol's leather cleaner and conditioner to wipe it away.

We clean our light grey interior rather randomly, and our seats have held up great for the last 32k miles. I wear jeans a lot and have yet to see any staining from them on the leather. Now, as long as I can keep my dear wife from doing her nails in the car, I believe that our interior will remain fairly safe from issues!

The only thing holding up in my RX are the seats. I have the light gray color and use Lexol 1-2 times a month. no issues with the seats in almost 5K miles. The rest of the car is failing daily. See may other posts. If seat discoloration is your only problem, count your blessings!!

Mine is getting the blue also but it seems to clean off. I had the so called Perma Plate installed and was told it should protect the seats from blue jeans. I'm not sure if it is protecting them or making it eaiser to clean after they start turning blue.

Depends on the type of jeans, some will rub off more than others and it will show in lighter color leather. Clean it once every 2 to 3 months and you will be fine.
