I used 3 tanks of 93 octan for the trip, even after 3 tanks the car is still the same.
Do you mean that the 87 octan cause some damage for the engin or fuel system. on the manul, it says using 87 once in a while is OK.

Eeven after 3 tanks of 93 octan the car is still the same.
Do you mean that the 87 octan demaged the engine or fuel system alreay.
based on the manual it should not cause perminent damage from only 2 tanks of 87 gas

The answer is no, 87 octane does not cause this kind of problem. In fact, if everything in your RX is working right, the 87 ocatne gas should not cause any problem at all. You have something else wrong with your car. Maybe a knock sensor or low oil pressure.

The sound matting is Dynamat Extreme. The old Lexus (Junkxus) I added it and it reduced the noise level at 70+ MPH by 8dcb. The panels treated were soild sounding when you tap on them (like a German car). The new Lexus has it now and the car is solid, very solid and it runs like a champ!!!!

Send to lexus dealer and they said nothing wrong. They are waiting for code from lexus to refresh the transmission - that is what I was told by a service man - they though it is because of transmission hesitance. I do not know what it means by refreshing transmission.
Any one has any idea?

The panels treated were the inner and outer doors (all Four), the rear quarters, hatch and cargo floor. I also removed the roof rack cross rails and now I get no wind noise from the roof!!!
It sounds like charlesh's problem is a bad cat converter. It will not throw a code unless the o2 sensor(s) get burned. This would account for the poor performance and mileage. My brother had a Mazda 2006 with 8k miles on it that had the same problem. The dealer replaced the transmission and the problem was the converter was plugged. He went to another dealer and they replaced the cat converter and the car drove better than it did when new. I would get the Lexus corporate involved or try a different dealer.

When you dealer say reflash the transmission, they mean reload the transmission's software program. Let them reflash it and see what happen. By reflashing the trans, they have acknowledge that there is a problem. Your RX should do 0-60 in about 7 to 8 second, try to find a open road and time the accelaration and see what it is. Tell the Lexus dealer and Lexus headquarter that you have a hard time merging on highway and it is a safety hazard.

I wonder if these problems are due to the difference in VIN# starts w/ *J* or *2*...
Sounds very similar to 5th Generation Honda Accord... when American Honda began to manufacture Accord in the US soil... everything went wack!
