Default 3+ months waiting for a new RX350 white/Ivory

Is it true that you have to wait 3 months to get one 09 RX350 for your desired color in Canada?

I have made a deal with my local Lexus dealer, but I just got a call from them last night saying that they cannot deliver the vehicle I wanted as guarantied time (end of July). And if I still want to own one, I have to wait until the Fall (September).

The sales said that the Canadian plant at Cambridge no longer builds any 09 RX350 because the Cambridge plant is preparing for 2010 RX350, so that left only Japan is building 09 RX350. Sigh....

I am thinking about buy one from the state through a broker now, but as Bowlth mentioned his experience in https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...6&postcount=12.
I am not sure that what I can do now.

I wonder if this is true. I want to order a Crystal WHite model and was told I will have to wait a minimum 8-12 weeks. I don't mind but are they really only built in Japan now?

That is true, I had DVLT check the inventory last week for June and they had burgundy, silver .. nothing coming in June. July will be few more colours not popular ones. I guess it is the promotion price that has many folks buying RX350 over other luxury SUVs.

The RX350 I'm ordering has a build date of sometime in July. That means it is built in Japan?

Based on my two new, yes, two new RX350's I would not wait. Purchase something else. Both of mine have been terrible. Lexus quality is dropping fast!! If you really want a Junkxus wait until the 2010 model comes out. No, maybe that is a bad idea. If they can not build and correct problems on a 5-6 year old design then the new model will be terrible. I think the a new color should be Lemon Yellow. I gave Lexus two chances to impress me. They failed twice. Remember you get what you pay for. After having many, many issues I would say Lexus compares to Buick or Cadillac not true luxury cars! BMW and Benz. are 14-17K more. I drove a 2008 GS350 AWD and it is alot cheaper than a E350 4-matic or a BMW 530 XI and it shows. A Toyota in a Tux is still a Toyota. No Lexus, Yes, Toyota. Well you get the point.

I've had the same terrible experiences as you but w/ BMW. I would rather buy a Benz than BMW! BMW is what sold me on Lexus...

It's really unfortunate about your Lexus experience but let's get couple of things straight. Germans have cool cars thats solid but it'll never be as reliable as Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Your experience maybe sour but there are far more Happy owners then unhappy owners...and nobody ever said Lexus/Toyota is perfect. Also let's not get into how reliable the Germans cars are. Have you ever read about BMW X3 issues? or MB ML issues? My god its a nightmare on Elm St.

Not necessary. I just ordered one from DVNLT for white/ivory, I have to wait until end of July.

To the best of my knowledge, only the hybrid and base are made in Japan. The Cambridge continues to build other trims.

Beside, it is not a valid assumption of Japan build RX350 is better than the Cambridge build as it has been discussed so many time.

I honestly don't care where it's built.

Great colour choice - that's what we have, the '08 RX 350 Crystal White on Ivory.

I'm looking into getting a clear bra on the nose, lights and mirrors. Anyone have recommendation including locations in Toronto to get it installed?
