Whirring noise...

Hey guys, I've been driving the RX330 AWD for the past 2-3 weeks. It was my brother's car but he moved. Recently I've noticed to hear a whirring noise when I let go of the gas or lighting stepping on the gas pedal. It started about a week and a half ago but now it is more noticeable. Is this the same transmission problem that I found on this thread? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...light=whirring
What can I do about it? The warranty is out on this car by the way. What happens to this noise after a while?

I haven't heard of this, but someone on the forum might have experienced it. If the vehicle is still in warranty I'd have it checked out by the dealer. It's unlikely to be a transmission problem, but if it is, you want to start a paper trail.
Lexus maintains a computer database on the cars that come in for service and even if they dismiss or diagnose the problem as something else, you will have a record on file that puts a start date on the record. If it is a transmission problem, it should be under warranty - if they can't locate it, at least you will have a record of your complaint that could be helpful if the problem recurs - even out of warranty.

There could be several things. CV Joint, Transfer case or diff. Or a simple idler pulley or water pump. Like the other members have suggested get it to the dealer for a check up. The transmission will slip, but usually not make a whirling sound. But the other things I mentioned could produce the sound.
