Default 60000 Miles Service

Our RX330 hit 60000 miles recently so I called up the dealership to see what kind of service they suggest and more importantly the cost of said service. I was told it would cost ~$1100 for this "D Level Service".

As you can see it also includes levels A,B, and C but the price still seems a bit high. Do you guys think thats a fair price? If not, any recommendation on where else to go? Thanks in advance.

It does seem like a lot! They are "inspecting" a lot of stuff, but other than throwing a can of fuel system cleaner in the tank, are replacing almost nothing!

They replace the spark plugs @ 60,000 miles? My manuel states 120,000 miles.

Service includes A+B+C+D. Includes all the filter changes, etc. Is high, as is all Lexus service. Can be done at a Toyota dealership for around half the price. You might want to search the threads as I remember seeing a discussion on this previous.

That seems way too high. Not to hijack thread but I asked what an oil change would be for my BMW Z3 this weekend and was quoted $130 by the local dealer. I did it my self for $52. Some of the 60,000 mile check up you can do your self like change oil & filter, change engine air filter, replace engine coolant, change air conditioner filter. These are all doable for any body who is half way mechanically inclined and want to save them selves some money. Some of the inspections are simple. Basically if these are not issues I would not worry about them. I have not changed brake fluid but it is also a simple procedure but I still let the pro's do that. I also let them change the tranny fluid at prescibed times. The bottom line is you can do some of the things you would feel comfortable with and let the dealer do the rest. Every little bit you can do your self will save you money. They won't blink an eye when you tell them you have done this and they can do the rest.
