Default tire balance

hi ,i got new tires installed on my rx330,they used weights on the inner side of the wheel instead of the sticky ones on the middle of the wheel that is the factory install.still having problem with the balance.do you think that this is the reason,,,thank you

Either way the wheel needs to be very well balanced. The sticky ones come in a strip, while the clip-ons come in different weights. I can think of situation where the clip on [one weight] can be better than the strip. The other problem with the strip is, that in Texas heat .. if they are on a spare, they fall off.

For looks the strip is better and at times needed where you have tight clearances.

I would only insist on getting it right.

Look for shops with "hunter" machines ... board members have raving reviews.

On steel rims the weights are placed on both the inner and outer rim to maintain a true balance. Mag or aluminum rims are balanced in the center to maintain a neutral side to side effect. JMO.

How do you know there is a balance problem? They should not have been put on until they were properly balanced to begin with.

Find a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balance machine. That's the best balance machine I've found. Your Lexus dealer, or a good tire shop should have one...
