Default A/C Fan Speed Surge/Cycle

During a 6 hour trip with the A/C set on Auto where the A/C decided when to turn on/off recirculate I noticed when the recirculate was off I could hear the fan (I think it was the fan speed) go up and down ever so slightly. It seem to cycle every 20 seconds or so. With the recirculate on there was no fan cycle up and down. The A/C remained cold out of recirculate mode or in recirculate mode but the fan speed cycling made me think some was wrong. The fan speed indicator display bars did not change. The fan cycle was very suttle.

Is this a problem?

It does not seem like a problem.

Just to be sure, inspect your recirc filter (in case it has not been replaced in a while). I suspect, your perception of fan speed is has more to do with the sound of air moving through changing ducts.

Thanks, the RX is a 2008 with low miles so I think the filter is ok. It is very slight sound like someone breathing so the air in the duct is probably what it is. Since the actual fan speed indicator does not change but the sound does when recirculate is off. Fresh air from outside in the air ducts sounds like that is what it could be........
