Wow! Almost $1000 for 60K service. I am making a note to trade mine when it gets to 50K. There is nothing you can do to a car, that falls in the category of maintenance, that can possibly be worth $1000. My guess is if you were allowed to secretly record the service, it might take them an hour to do the 60K schedule. Even if you pay for the overpriced parts/supplies, that shouldn't be more than $100. These guys jack you up worse than Jiffy Lube.

Go to your local Toyota dealer and have the work done for the 60k service.
I had my transmission fluid changed out at 30k for only $ 29 with a Toyota dealer.

I check couple of IS350s for the wifey cuz there is no way i was gona spend like 2800k for the transfer case fix and 60k service,

went to toyota dealer ship, the 60k service would cost me 520$, for the transmission drain and fill, differential fluids change and spark plugs, almost half of what lexus was charging me.

The Transfer case seals was another issue they said it will be around 1700$.
Guys with warranty left on your RXs better get this checked out, its a pretty common problem with the RX. I called my trusted mechanic up, he said he will do it for 350$...so i think i will be keeping the car!

I can see that costing that much to replace the seals because they have to separate the tranny from the engine block to get at the one side along with removing the axles on both sides. It's more of a time consuming job (having done this with my uncle and cousins with my RX300.

Why would you change the spark plugs at 60k ? I thought they were good for 100k miles is this not just a way for the dealer ship to take more moeny from you.

I show in the RX330 manual that the first spark plug change shows up at 120,000 miles or 144 months.

That said, my GS300 had 60,000 miles on it and the dealership recommended new plugs. I passed... $450 for plugs. Yikes. Granted they needed to remove the intake manifold to get at two of them...

I have about 63,000 miles on my '04 RX330 and just noticed that I have the same transfer case leak.

Has anyone had luck getting Lexus to fix this as a TSB/warranty type repair instead of paying for the labor?

Darn it....I have the same problem on my 05' Rx330 with only 37k miles on it. Going to bring it to the dealer to have them take care of. Is there a TSB number for this?

OK, the dealer did cover my transfer case leak under the 70k mile powertrain warranty despite the fact that I'm at 63k miles.

Excellent!
