#17
on closer inspection i saw that below the glove box there was a panel that had come loose...
i fixed that, and added more felt in the hope i had finally rid myself of the rattle....
drove around with a big smile on my face for about 10 mins....
AND THEN THE RATTLE REARED ITS UGLY HEAD!
what a buzzkill.....

Re-install Glove Box.
Make sure the hidden bolt is tight.
After a year, my rattle came back. I do not pay attention to it anymore.
Good luck for those who want to try this DIY.

Click on VEHICLE OWNERS on top, and on the bottom right hand side is the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) link.
From that link , a vehicle search with make , model, year would give all recall and TSB information.

mandyfig, would love to see your pics of the repair. I have a 2008 LS460 and the glove box does not close completely when it latches. The gap is about 1/2 inch wide. Not a real issue except very unsightly and annoying. I have taken a quick look, and don't see any easy to get access to the latch mechanism. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
